Before I go on, I need to tell you that I am not some MLM “hater” or a person who despises the very industry itself. I am not here to just spout off at the mouth about the horrors of MLM and then leave. I am a network marketer myself, but years in the MLM trenches have taught me a few things about this industry and it has changed. Your best bet now is to stay as far away from it as possible.

The Death of MLM

“Internet Killed the MLM Star…” – only this time it is for real. As recently as just 5 years ago the idea of spending 3-5 years working hard and building a residual income through a new MLM opportunity was alive and well, but today it is all but dead. No one is going to be able to breathe the life back into it unless they can somehow do away with the Internet itself! So in a matter of speaking, “it ain’t gonna happen!.” Lets look at what is going on…

Your Grandma Started An MLM Company?

Thanks to the Internet anyone can now start a new MLM company anytime they wish, and that is exactly what is happening. Every 9 months or so a new mlm opportunity appears on the scene and the result is pure insanity. Because there are a finite number of bodies out there to help this new mlm opportunity grow, they have to find ways to literally “rip” distributors out of another company just to start their own.

The MLM Junkie Re-Born

Everyone jumps at this new mlm opportunity as if it will be the answer to their prayers. They want to be at the top of a new company for once so they all scramble like lemmings to get the best spot, destroying the previous MLM company from the bottom up. If they don’t get the position they want this time they don’t have to worry because another new mlm opportunity will launch soon and they can do it all over again.

We used to have a special name for the network marketer who jumps into a new company every 6-9 months or so. We called them MLM Junkies. The problem is that today, this is considered normal behavior and just part of the industry. Chances are if you join a new mlm opportunity, which has been forged in this new MLM economy, you will evolve into a junkie too. You won’t have a choice.

This is not just a current trend, it is the way the MLM game is being played today. There is no way to escape it. It is not going to change. In this environment, MLM companies are bringing lawsuits against each other and even their own distributors! It is getting real ugly.

Solution

If you want to build a new business from the ground up every 6-9 months, then MLM is definitely for you! But, if you would rather build a business once, and live off of the residual income for years afterwards, which was the original promise of MLM just a few short years ago, You have to understand that times have changed, and that a new mlm business opportunity will not help you achieve that today.

You need to be looking for a “top tier” business model specifically created to combat this MLM mess. Look for a model designed to help you generate a large amount of “immediate income” up front, via direct sales (get paid today), while providing you the tools necessary to leverage this into a solid residual income down the road.
