Cost Efficient Sony SDX5-400W AIT-5 Storage Tape
Sony no doubt is the leading vendor of high quality backup media and is also the leading OEM supplier for most of the major computer and IT manufacturers. A complete line of highly durable backup storage products are offered by Sony. Sony Corporation is the market leader of both professional and consumer media. Sony AIT-5 tape format is recognized for its unmatched reliability and high quality. Sony has been serving its customers with durable backup tape storage products for more than fifty years.
Sony SDX5-400W cartridge belongs to the fifth version of advanced intelligent tape. Numerous intelligently engineered technologies have made the Sony AIT-5 tape more durable and cost efficient than other technologies. Sony SDX5-400W is the smallest tape cartridge when compared with other tape formats of same recording capacity. The small Sony AIT-5 cartridge records massive amounts of information which is 400GB (uncompressed data). Data is transferred onto the AIT-5 tape cartridge at 24 MB/second (compressed rate). When the data is compressed, the Sony AIT-5 tape cartridge’s recording capacity will increase to 1.04TB.
The rotating drum in AIT-5 tape is based on head platform which is highly stable and robust. The helical scan technology ensures that the data is accurately recorded onto the Sony SDX5-400W tape cartridge at a fast speed with high level of reliability. In AIT-5 tape format, the information is stored at high recording densities with decreased error rate. The SDX5-400W tape media comprises of efficiently packed track density which is 5 times greater the tape recording formats based on linear-serpentine technology. Therefore the Sony AIT5 is the most space efficient tape technology as it has the capability to pack more volumes of critical data. The tape head accurately reads and records the data in AIT-5 tape technology as it comprises of magneto-resistive head technology.
MR tape heads are very advantageous, reliable and have the ability to support higher recording densities. MR head assist the AIT-5media cartridge to pack more data amounts. The quality of signal read-back is elevated by the innovative dynamic tracking system employed in AIT-5 tape format. The function of the dynamic tacking mechanism is to control the position of the MR (magneto-resistive) head when it is reading the data. Maximum strength of data retrieval and data read-back is ensured by the MR head of AIT-5 because it tracks & fluctuates along with the recorded information. Unmatched durability and remarkable areal density is offered by the Sony SDX5-400W tape which is made possible by the highly reliable AME III technology.
The AME III technology helps the AIT-5 tape format to run its operations smoothly. A new method has been devised in AME-III to apply the magnetic layer onto the tape media. New advanced lubricant is used in Sony SDX5-400W tape technology to stabilize its working operations. AME-III has decreased the size of the magnetic particles which has resulted in increased density of Sony SDX5-400W AIT-5 tape.
